England’s Jos Buttler is set for a spell without the gloves after an x-ray revealed the wicketkeeper fractured his thump.
Buttler, 25, suffered the “small, stable fracture” while playing for Lancashire in their T20 Blast clash with Worcestershire.
Lancashire play Derbyshire in the same competition on Wednesday where Buttler may play as a batsman but Alex Davies will step in behind the stumps.
Lancashire have not put a timetable on his likely return to action but have said the injury “will be managed conservatively”.
