David Willey has not fractured any of the bones in his hand and will join the England squad after Wednesday’s first one-day international with Pakistan.
Willey, 26, had an x-ray after the ball struck his bowling hand Yorkshire’s T20 Blast semi-final defeat by Durham on Saturday.
Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball will replace Willey in the Three Lions squad for the first match of the ODI series in Southampton while Willey could feature in the second game of the series at Lord’s on Saturday.
Meanwhile Stuart Broad will have a scan on his injured left ankle having withdrawn from the Nottinghamshire squad to face Yorkshire in the County Championship.
