Brendon McCullum
The legacy Brendon has left behind has been fantastic, he’s changed the way white-ball cricket is played and when he was with us at Middlesex, you always knew something special would happen.
Adam Gilchrist
Adam’s inclusion is self-explanatory. He’s an absolute legend of the game and has completely revolutionised the way a wicketkeeper/batsman is supposed to play the game. He dominated in a way nobody else could come close to matching.
David Warner
He’s another one of those who could come to county cricket and just blow it apart. He came to Middlesex back in 2010, but he has been phenomenal ever since he started playing international cricket, not just with his performances, but with the way Test openers are now perceived.
Owais Shah
I learned a hell of a lot from Owais Shah. He was always there for me as a young kid, watching me in the nets and would always be available for some throwdowns. He was the one who taught me spin and even now he’ll be there giving me advice whenever I need it.
Eoin Morgan
Cricket is moving forward in the country and Eoin is at the forefront of that. We’ve seen with England how the one-day game is changing and the captain is so important in making that happen, he can hit it with the best of them and that’s why we’re seeing some big scores.
Rahul Dravid
Let’s just pick batters! I was only involved with Rahul for six or seven days with the MCC but just being there with a legend like that allows you to pick up so much, he’s an incredibly impressive player and person.
Andrew Strauss
I was going to have Simmo (John Simpson) in here, but he’s not getting ahead of Gilchrist with the gloves! I feel if you can open the batting, you can play at seven and I have to get Straussy in somewhere. He can bowl some left-arm spin, too.
Murali Kartik
He’s definitely been the best spinner I’ve played with, he could do some magic things with the ball and having someone like that can make a good team a great one, especially when he’s doing it for Middlesex.
Toby Roland-Jones
That hat-trick to win the County Championship in 2016 tells you all you need to know – Toby is such a class bowler and it’s thrilling to see him getting the rewards. I always knew he would become an international cricketer – he deserved his chance and he seemed to be taking it, too, before that unfortunate injury.
Tim Murtagh
It’s great to see Murts getting a chance with Ireland in Tests, we’ve seen him do it with the Associates, but we know he’ll do exceptionally well because he’s been so consistent for us – you know he’s going to be Mr Reliable, there’s a reason why he’s taken the most wickets for us in the past ten years.
Steven Finn
I’ve played with Steven since I was 18 and to see him come up and do what he has done in international cricket is so impressive. He’s had his ups and downs but his attitude is faultless. He comes back to Middlesex and slots in seamlessly, puts in the graft and gets the job done.
