JHYE Richardson made a dream start to his Test career as he took 3-26 in helping dismantle Sri Lanka for just 144 on the opening day of the day/night Test at the Gabba yesterday.
The 22-year-old was handed his debut ahead of the experienced Peter Siddle with Australia looking to cover for the injury-enforced absence of Josh Hazlewood.
Western Australian Richardson repaid that faith in spades removing Sri Lanka skipper Dinesh Chandimal in his first spell with the pink ball as Australia made some early dents in the visiting batting line-up.
