HALF-CENTURIES from Avishka Fernando and Bhanuka Rajapaksa helped Sri Lanka overcome India by three wickets to avoid an ODI series whitewash.
India, who had sealed the three-match series on Tuesday, fielded five debutants, though Prithvi Shaw (49) and Sanju Samson (46) laid the foundations for a big total with a partnership of 74 following the early loss of Shikhar Dhawan.
But both fell before a rain delay and when the players returned, Sri Lanka’s spinners turned the screw.
