Afghanistan travelled to Bangladesh and beat them 2-1 in a bilateral ODI series, registering their first series victory over the Tigers in the format and thus providing a welcome boost ahead of this year’s World Cup.
Rain played a defining role in the first ODI with Bangladesh batting first and scoring 169-9 in a reduced innings of 43 overs. Towhid Hridoy was the only player to score heavily, making 51 from 69 balls. Fazalhaq Farooqi had the best figures of 3-24 from 8.4 overs.
