Kavem Hodge sat in the press room after the finest day of his career laughing at his own jokes and the sheer absurdity of this game they call the Test.
“It was brutal! It’s not often you rock up to face someone bowling at 90mph every single ball,” he says, a smile creeping across his face, building to the punchline. “At one point I said to Mark Wood, ‘Hey, I have a wife and kids!’ I just had to laugh.” And with that, not for the first time this day, he jerked his head back, but this time in pure abandon.
