Prithvi Shaw becomes youngest Indian ever to hit a century on debut

Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw became the youngest Indian in Test history to hit a century on debut on Thursday as he took just 99 balls to register the feat during the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot.
Shaw beats the previous record of Abbas Ali Baig who was 20 years and 131 days old when he struck a century against England at Old Trafford in 1959.
The 18-year-old is also the fourth youngest in the history of the game to achieve the feat and the second youngest Indian to hit a Test century, behind the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
Shaw fell for 134 in the end as India racked up an imposing first innings score of 649-9d, Virat Kohli also scoring his 24th Test century while Ravindra Jadeja registered his maiden Test ton.
In reply, West Indies crumbled to 94-6, Mohammed Shami the pick of the India bowlers with 2-11 from his six overs.
