THANK goodness the cricket has started and we can do away with all this sledging nonsense. I was never a big sledger when I was a player, and I don’t buy into it now.
For some people, it gets them going, but I was never quick-witted enough and so would just let other people do the chirping. It’s funny because the big talkers can actually be the quiet ones away from the field. Brad Haddin was a chirper, but he was very respectful once the stumps had been drawn and was careful what he said in the media. What was said on the field would stay on the field. That was his way.
