ASHES IN BRIEF
AFTER a 95-minute rain delay on day one of the Ashes, officials were always looking at ways to make up time.
An elongated final session on the first day at the Gabba saw some caught up, though bad light meant England only had to face three deliveries with the new ball.
Half an hour was brought back on the second day by starting at 9.30am (11.30pm UK time), while the third day will start at 9.58am – two minutes ahead of schedule.
So we’ll make up all of one over, if lucky!
