Football was Archie Carter’s first love – but after a sizzling summer for Berkshire it looks like cricket is his true calling.
The 18-year-old – who is in his second year in the Middlesex academy – has been tearing up trees in Minor Counties cricket this season.
The right-handed opener has a century against Wales MC and further halfcenturies against Shropshire, Cheshire and Wiltshire since the start of July.
Not a bad return for a man who held a cricket bat for the first time less than five years ago.
