Jaya’s ‘privilege’ to join Edwards on south coast

SRI LANKA legend Mahela Jayawardene says it is a “great privilege” to be appointed as Men’s Head Coach for the Southampton –based team in The Hundred – while Charlotte Edwards continued her rapid rise to the top by landing the Women’s job.
Jayawardene, 42, scored nearly 12,000 runs in 149 Test matches for Sri Lanka before moving into coaching, twice leading the Mumbai Indians to victory in the Indian Premier League.
