There were plenty of positives for England to take from Edgbaston, even in defeat. Foremost among them was the double dismissal of Marnus Labuschagne, who looked like a fish out of water as Stuart Broad reeled him in for England.
A golden duck in the first innings, coupled with another failure in the Aussies’ successful run chase at Birmingham, has gifted England the upper hand in this particular duel.
