IN Sky’s commentary on Tuesday, Michael Slater had just opined that Australia may have been considering the need to do something different, with Ben Stokes proving as hard to shift as beetroot on cream chinos on a 30 degree wash.
Mitchell Starc must have heard him.
His 90mph yorker, which caused Stokes to get on bended knee and discard his bat, was the crushing final blow in a defeat that has threatened to derail England’s World Cup campaign.
