WEST INDIES legend Sir Everton Weekes is expected to be discharged from hospital in the coming days after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday night.
The 94-year-old, who scored 4,455 Test runs at a superb average of 58.61, is recovering in Bridgetown, although his condition is not as serious as first feared.
The news comes in the same week that another West Indian legend, Brian Lara, was taken to hospital, in Mumbai, with chest pains but he has since been discharged (see p18).
