In vain: Ravi Bopara’s efforts weren’t enough for Essex

RILEE ROSSOUW has waited a long time for his maiden Ageas Bowl century but it came at the perfect time as he guided Hampshire to a fine victory against Essex.
Set 304 to win on a wicket that did not favour heavy scoring, Hampshire were up against it but Rossouw, who made 99 on his home debut last year and 90 against Surrey on Monday, got to work.
