I WAS as disappointed as anyone at the exclusion of Trent Bridge from the 2023 Ashes series.
Having said that, would it be fair for one of the five selected venues to miss out?
If Trent Bridge was excluded for the benefit of the Ageas Bowl or the Swalec, then I might well be spitting bullets. But Lords, the Oval, Edgbaston, Old Trafford and Headingley are all top-class Test venues.
The solution? Six Ashes Tests and a little less pyjama cricket.
