Cricket Australia has announced that for medical reasons, Australia captain Meg Lanning will not be there when her team arrives for this summer’s Ashes series.
Lanning, 31, has been withdrawn from the squad on the advice of medical staff because of an issue which requires management from home.
Wicketkeeper-batter Alyssa Healy will take charge of the side for the series while all-rounder Tahlia McGrath will take over as vice-captain.
