GARY STEAD says he can’t wait to stuck into his new role as New Zealand coach.
Stead, the former Canterbury batsman, who played five Tests for his country, has been named as successor to Mike Hesson, who resigned in June, and will be in charge for two years.
The 46-year-old will oversee New Zealand’s run to the 2019 World Cup, having already coached the women’s side to the final of the 2009 World Cup and 2010 World T20.
