Hundred is a learning curve for ace Verma

SHAFALI Verma arrived at Birmingham Phoenix for the inaugural edition of The Hundred laden with the expectation of success.
Not only was the teenage Indian the world’s number-one ranked international T20 batter, but she was also in sizzling form after blitzing England on her Test debut.
So why has she failed to really set The Hundred alight so far? Surely the most significant factor is the tenderness of her youth.
At just 17 years of age the weight of expectation as the Phoenix’s key overseas signing is more heavy on her shoulders.
