WHEN Sam Northeast made the controversial move from Kent to Hampshire in 2018, he would have surely envisaged his first season with the county going far better than it actually did.
Struck by a broken finger, a downward spiral of form after a century in his second game and tough batting pitches, Northeast had a difficult time – averaging just 25.05 in red-ball cricket by the end of the campaign – which he admits took him a while to recover from.
