Preliminary squad? Archer will play in the World Cup

EVEN though Jofra Archer wasn’t named in England’s preliminary World Cup squad this week it appears only injury can prevent the Barbados-born bowler from making the cut when it is finalised next month.
Of the 15 players selected ahead of the initial deadline set by the International Cricket Council, one will surely make way for the supremely-talented Archer when England announce their final squad on May 22.
