MATT QUINNwould have been the happiest cricketer around the circuit at the start of the current round of matches.
The 25 year-old from Auckland who plays in the UK under a British passport was making his return from injury after a period of 376 days.
He joined Essex in 2016, but his career has been blighted by injury, the latest being a serious back problem sustained at Guildford against Surrey just over a year ago.
