IT’S been a winter of change at Sussex but if new head coach Jason Gillespie can deliver the midas touch then Division One cricket surely awaits next season.
The Australian, who won back-to-back championships with Yorkshire, was brought in to replace Mark Davis – while academy director Carl Hopkinson also left at the end of March.
Hopkinson is the ECB’s new lead fielding coach and is replaced by ex-England assistant Richard Halsall, while Sussex assistant coach Jon Lewis will also depart mid-April to take charge of England Under-19s.
