ALAN Wells was the middle man as Shai Hope looked into the possibility of playing for England – but the former Sussex great couldn’t be more proud of the heroics his former charge is performing for the West Indies.
Wells, who played a single Test for England against the West Indies in 1995, runs the cricket programme at Bedes School in Eastbourne, working with former county colleagues Neil Lenham and James Kirtley.
