Gillespie to leave Yorkshire and return to Australia

Jason Gillespie will leave Yorkshire at the end of the season to return to .

Gillespie, 41, has led the to two titles with the White Rose in contention to make it a hat-trick this year.

Yorkshire will wait to appoint the successor to former fast Gillespie, who took over in 2011, until after the season ends.

Gillespie’s wife and four children recently returned to Australia where he also coaches the Strikers in the Big Bash.

Yorkshire said: “I’ve had a good idea for a while that would be leaving. I had a long chat with him last week as well.

“Dizzy has done a fantastic job for the . His record speaks for itself.

“He was a breath of fresh air when he first came in, and he’s freed us up to play that attacking brand of .

“We’ve had an excellent working relationship together, which has helped us forge the success we’ve had.

“I’m obviously very disappointed to see him leave, but it’s the right thing to do by him and his family, and I wish him well for the future.”
