Gloucestershire Championship captain Gareth Roderick will miss up to six weeks of cricket after breaking his finger on Sunday.
Wicket keeper Roderick broke it during his sides T20 victory against Essex at Cheltenham and isn’t expected back until the last few weeks of the season.
The South African born keeper is averaging over 40 in the Championship this season and he will be hoping to recover quickly as Gloucestershire end the season with six straight Championship games.
Meanwhile limited-overs captain Michael Klinger has taken over the captaincy for this weeks game against Leicestershire, with Chris Dent taking the gloves.
Gloucestershire have already qualified for the quarter-finals of the T20 blast and if they do make it to finals day on August 20th, Roderick will face a race to be fit in time.
Meanwhile in Division Two of the Championship Gloucestershire are third in the table and will be hoping to continue their good form and push for promotion.
