TalkSPORT have beaten the BBC for broadcast rights to air England‘s tours of Sri Lanka and the West Indies this coming winter.
It is the first time in 13 years Test Match Special has lost out on holding down England’s Test coverage when TalkSPORT again won the rights in 2005.
Joe Root‘s side embark on a three-Test tour of Sri Lanka in November, with five ODIs and one T20 international preceding the red-ball action – all to be aired on talkSPORT.
The chief executive of Wireless, the company that owns talkSPORT, Scott Taunton said: “Winning these prestigious rights is a great victory for talkSPORT and its first-class coverage. England’s overseas tours are sure to lure large audiences of fans.
“I’m delighted that we will be with England fans for every ball of the day throughout these winter tours, with our own expert line-up of cricketing stars.”
England legend and TalkSport presenter Darren Gough said: “England’s supporters are the best in the world and loyally follow the team around the cricketing globe.
“Come day or night and rain or shine, we’ll be there with the fans as all the drama unfolds and with a full analysis of the day’s play.”
England begin 2019 with a tour to the Caribbean with three Tests, five ODIs and one T20 to be played in February and March.
