Sadler leaves Derbyshire by mutual consent

have announced that Head Coach John Sadler has left the by mutual consent.

The decision comes after former player Kim Barnett was appointed the new director of . The club’s has undergone a significant restructuring in recent times as Barnett looks to exert his influence.

The former and joined Derbyshire as a coach in January 2014 at the age of just 32, having played intermittently for the club between 2008 and 2010. In June of this year, Sadler was appointed interim coach and led the club for the remainder of the season.

It is understood that Sadler is keen to search for other coaching opportunities.

“John is an accomplished coach who played a leading role in the management team,” said advisor of cricket Kevin Dean.

Dean added: “We thank him for his tireless work, especially for providing a stable base for our players to learn and improve. We wish him well in the future.”

The club have already added to their squad for the 2017 season with the arrival of South Africa , who Barnett described as “one of the best leg spinners in the world.”
