THANK YOU JIMMY

THANK YOU

Jimmy Anderson will bid farewell to at Lord’s this week as he ends a phenomenal career after 188 matches and, hopefully, more than 700 Test wickets. It will end where it all started 21 years ago, with more than half of Anderson’s life having been spent pulling on an jersey and doing battle against the world’s best.

The 41-year-old will leave the stage as the all-time leading wicket-taker among fast by a huge margin ( is next with 604), and he has an outside chance of taking the nine wickets he needs to overhaul ‘s tally of 708 and climb to second in the overall list.

As for what comes next, Anderson said on the Tailenders podcast: “I honestly don’t know. I love talking about the game, talking about and delving into the technical side of it. I’ve done a bit of punditry on and on the radio, so I will maybe balance that and a bit of coaching.”

Whatever you do, Jimmy, we salute you and we thank you for the memories.
